Project Brief

The Bombsight Recording studio project took a space in a historic train station in Bloomington, IL and transformed it into the vision the client had for his office space and recording studio. The design allows for spaces to be used for one function during working hours and another during evenings and weekends. This tenant upfit project used the buildings historic stone walls and wood floors to create the acoustics needed for the “live room” and “control room”. A lounge space was also designed to create a relaxing environment for friends and family during recordings. The client wanted the studio to pay homage to his Grandfather, for whom the company was named, so built-ins were designed for memorabilia to be displayed. Security, power, data, and acoustics were all important components of the project and studioK ensured that the client’s priorities were coordinated with the aesthetics and building code requriements of the project.
