Bio

Ryan has over 18 years of experience in the design and design/build industry. She founded studioK Architecture in 2015 in Charleston, SC and opened the Princeton, IL office in 2016. Ryan grew up in Summerville, SC, a “small” town west of Charleston where she briefly worked in the offices of Rosenblum Coe Architects (Charleston) and MG Architects (Charleston) before graduating from Clemson in 2004, then joined her Father in the family construction company. In 2006, Ryan worked in the office of Liollio Architecture (Charleston) and after graduating from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC), in 2009, with a Master of Architecture, Ryan began working for Baysinger Design Group in Marion, IL.

Ryan returned to Charleston in 2009 and while working remotely for BDG, joined her husband, Matt, to pursue custom residential design/build projects. She expanded her work to include commercial architecture in 2014, gaining experience in retail, grocery store up-fits, medical offices and franchise restaurant projects. Ryan has a passion for adaptive reuse and has been involved in many historic building projects in both Charleston and the Illinois Valley area. Her work has greatly expanded to include a wide variety of commercial and residential clients. Since arriving in Princeton, Ryan volunteers her time serving the community through the Princeton Rotary Club, as the former founding Chair of the City of Princeton Historic Preservation Commission, a hostess for the Homestead Festival Lawn Fundraiser, a member of the Bureau County Historical Society Board of Directors and a Princeton Chamber of Commerce Board member also serving as the Building Improvements Grant committee Chair.
